            Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao, also known as Manny Pacquiao, is a Filipino professional boxer and politician. He is an eight-division world champion, the first boxer in history to win ten world titles in eight different weight divisions.He is also the first boxer in history to win the lineal championship in four different weight classes.He was named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000's by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA). He is also a three-time BWAA and The Ring "Fighter of the Year" in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
             Currently, Pacquiao is the WBC Super Welterweight World Champion and WBO Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion). He is also currently rated as the "number one" pound-for-pound best boxer in the world by several sporting news and boxing websites, including The Ring, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, NBC Sports, Yahoo! Sports and About.com.

             Aside from boxing, Pacquiao has participated in acting, music recording, and politics. In May 2010, Pacquiao was elected to the House of Representatives in the 15th Congress of the Philippines, representing the province of Sarangani. He is the only active boxer to become a congressman in the Philippines.

Pacman's Personal Life

         Pacquiao was born on December 17, 1978, in Kibawe, Bukidnon, Philippines. He is the son of Rosalio Pacquiao and Dionesia Dapidran-Pacquiao. His parents separated when he was in sixth grade, after his mother discovered that his father was living with another woman. He is the fourth among six siblings: Liza Silvestre-Onding and Domingo Silvestre (from first husband of his mother) and Isidra Pacquiao-Paglinawan, Alberto "Bobby" Pacquiao and Rogelio Pacquiao.
         Pacquiao is married to Maria Geraldine "Jinkee" Jamora, and they have four children: Emmanuel Jr. "Jimuel", Michael, Princess, and Queen Elizabeth "Queenie". He resides in his hometown General Santos City, South Cotabato, Philippines. However, as a congressman of lone district of Sarangani, he is officially residing in Kiamba, Sarangani, the hometown of his wife.
         Pacquiao is a devout Roman Catholic^. Within the ring, he frequently makes the sign of the cross and everytime he comes back from a successful fight abroad, he attends a thanksgiving Mass in Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, Manila to kneel and pray.

         Pacquiao is also a military reservist with the rank of Sergeant Major for the 15th Ready Reserve Division of the Philippine Army. When younger he had considered becoming a soldier, and was enlisted in the military reserve force as an Army Private.

Pacman's Boxing Record

World Titles

1. Pacquiao first held the WBC Flyweight title in 1998 when he defeated Chartchai Sasakul in Bangkok, Thailand. Pacquiao won by TKO in the 8th round. He defended the title once before losing it in a bout vs. Medgoen Singsurat in 1999.
2. Pacquiao first held the IBF Super Bantamweight title in 2001 after defeating Lehlohonolo Ledwaba in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. He won by TKO in the 6th round, then proceeded to defend and retain the title four times.
3. Pacquiao then bagged the WBC Super Featherweight title on March 15, 2008, when he defeated Juan Manuel Marquez in a match in Las Vegas.
4. Pacquiao knocked out David Diaz in the 9th round of their June 28, 2008 Las Vegas match, clinching the WBC Lightweight title.
5. Pacquiao earned the IBO Light Welterweight title when he knocked out Ricky Hatton in the 2nd round of their May 2, 2009 bout in Las Vegas.

Pacman as a POLITICIAN

                 Manny Pacquiao had knockout Mr. Roy Chiongbian last May 10, 2010 elections in their fight for congressman in Sarangani Province. Chiongbian clan ruled Sarangani for almost 18 years however Manny had dethroned them last election. Manny got two times the number of votes that made him a landslide victory.
James L. Chiongbian the father of Roy Chiongbian who factually created Sarangani province by authoring Republic Act 7228. Roy Chiongbian served as the new province’s first congressman for nine years. He was succeeded by his son Erwin who had also served for additional nine years.
                Manny had worked out this time. At the night of the election, he is very busy like an apprehensive candidate. He calls and personally speaks to his poll watchers at the 379 precincts at schools and public meeting places all over his area. He is finding way to sense how the voters were leaning, these are comprises by coconut farmers, tuna fishermen or laborers who exist on less than $2 a day.
                In 2007, he first ran for a congressional seat aligned with another political empire, Darlene Antonino-Custodio in General Santos City, his hometown. He failed to win in the election because of lack in political knowledge and ineffective campaign. Pacquio admitted that he lost big in campaign expenditure. Some noted instances are running away his money of those who volunteered to help for the campaign.
Manny claimed that this is his most satisfying win in his life. Certainly all his hard work was commendable; he got 80 percent of the total votes. It is approximately 90,000 votes out of 125,000 registered voters which made the boxing champ mathematically impossible to be defeated.
  He promised to focus on the livelihood projects for his political plan aiming to alleviate the lives of those ordinary workers such as coconut farmers, tuna fishermen or laborers in Sarangani province, the hometown of his wife Jinkee.
